About Me

A love for the elderly (instilled in me by my Mother during childhood) is what began my journey into the helping professions and I have enjoyed working with individuals from many different walks of life since then. I’ve worked in the field of Hospice, as a college instructor, and as a counselor with individuals who entered therapy because of court mandates or probation.

I’ve enjoyed working with clients of all ages and backgrounds; coming alongside them as they work to make progress on issues like anxiety, depression, relationship issues, substance abuse, and other concerns related to mental health and to moving forward in their lives generally.

My approach to therapy? I believe whole-heartedly that the most important factor in a successful outcome for my clients is the connection that exists between the client and myself and the relationship that is built during our time together. In addition to building a solid connection with my clients, I also keep my eyes fixed on the goals that clients have so that I can do my part to help them reach them; having someone who is nonjudgmental to talk with is a wonderful thing, but making progress with them is just as important, right?

When I’m not working with clients, you can probably find me with a few little dogs in my lap or maybe on a quiet lake kayaking with my husband and kids.
